Hafiz Karwandgar was born in a Pashai village of Laghman province.
He lived in shinwar, Herat,Zabul,Laghman,Kabul and Nangerhar provinces. He is graduated from military high school of Kabul with an higher degree and therefore he could join the medical faculty of Kabul. He got soon a scholarship and moved to Europe to complete his studies. Hafiz Karwandgar lives in Austria and it has been more than 10 years that he is singing. He has three albums, a hejrat zamzamy ,watan Armaan armaan and afghans. Hafiz Karwandgar is working in a relieve organisation for refugees in the city of Vienna.
